D-Bo: "It's happening again…"

This year's birthday has nudged me in the direction of building a new bass: a refurbished handplane, $50 for lumber, and a raw fretless neck—everything but the 'lectrics and hardware. Several years ago I found an ad for Hard Rock Cafe that featured Bo Diddley's first (homemade) guitar, at which point I decided I should build a rectangle bass. Instead, I built a cigar box guitar which that rectangle guitar references. With a bit more experience and the space, I'm ready to make a go of it. Granted the house needs a good bit more organizing before I can start, so the mahogany, cherry, purpleheart, cocobolo, and ebony will have to wait for a few months. It's research for the time being.
