The Chicago International Film Festival

In 2006 I was the graphic designer for the 42nd Chicago International Film Festival and it left me with a ton of great memories. Sure I worked myself ragged—3 all-nighters in total (something I never even did in school—I take sleeping pretty seriously). I'm still really happy with that work and its one of the few projects that old still remaining on my website.

Kutza gave me a call at the beginning of this year about doing a poster for this year's festival and I was all in. I really enjoy the simple aesthetic of the film festival: black, white, red, Helvetica and six years later I was ready for another round. It's always a pleasure to work with people who truly love what they do and Kutza and the Cinema/Chicago crew are those kind of people.

The Chicago International Film Festival starts this week and you should check it out. If you're around Chicago, you'll be seeing this image at bus stops, in magazines, and pretty much anywhere posters can be posted. Everyone asks me about the eyes, but I can't take credit for that—the eyes are Kutza's invention and have been around from day one.

This will be available as a limited edition silk screened poster.
