Uffda! The Flattop build is getting a bit long in the tooth. I've just been foolin' with the finish for the last few weeks, getting one thing right and another wrong. I hope with some practice all the guess work will go away. After some hemmin and hawin' I've decided to give this a protective layer of paste wax and call it a day. Then I'll get it setup with strings, adjust the nut and bridge. Then I'll actually have to play it!
All my builds get a hidden Eric Dolphy and this time I've taken it up a notch. Here he is, burnt into the underside of the truss rod cover:
