There are so many options for a bridge/tailpiece setup it's hard to decide what to do…
Given that this is not an archtop I don't think the ebony tailpiece will even work—something I was noticing as I was stringing it up. The strings kind of dance on top of the bridge, which is bad news bears. Installing a metal bridge would really be the easiest thing to do and also easy to make adjustments with over the years. However, I didn't reinforce the soundboard so I might just rip the top off when I strung it up. I think I'll just go back to the original bridge and saddle with bridge pins setup. I'm cleaning up the old bridge and getting ready to shape a zebrawood/mahogany saddle…
