Curio played a show at the Beat Kitchen the Friday after Thanksgiving and we didn't create poster art for it however my buddy/best man/Curio frontman Chris wanted me to create a post mortem poster since it was such a fun show. Rather than reuse an old collage I wanted to create something new, but also didn't put the project on the fast track.
It's been two months, but I think the timing was right. The plan was to keep the image fairly simple—basically something along the lines of tattoo flash. It got me thinking about chess somehow and now I have an idea to create a whole series of panther chess pieces—something like the Lewis Chessmen, but panthers. So above is the prototype and we'll see where it goes…
